幾多流光幾番想

 大二時上英文課
老師要我們自我介紹，
不要我們贅述自我資料性的流水帳。
希望從我們自己的嗜好興趣來介紹自己，
呈現每個人不同的個性。

我想了想，我最愛的2樣是看書和唱歌，
書話一說便從天黑說到天亮去了，還要寫成英文難度太高。
就講講唱歌好了，我這不能一天不唱歌的呆子，
與一位以歌創世的神，與異想天開的夢…串在一塊，
請高手協助，兜成了以下短文~~

I love singing since I was little, it has become a part of my life. I can even live without saying anything, but I cannot live without singing song.

I often think this hobby relates to myth, the story goes like this: Once upon a time there is an era called” the Dream Genesis.” The world is still desolate and quiet at that time. One day, the God of Greation is wanding on earth, he thinks this place is too empty, so he starts to sing. He beautiful voice is winding everywhere, and mountains, rivers, birds and animals appear one by one right after his singing. He keeps on going and singing,
Than the world become richer and richer.

After hearing his story, I often dream a dream : The scenery I see keep changing and there is a sparking view of one’s back walking lightly and singing pleasant voice in front of my sight, then I follow him humming.

Maybe all of this is just my imagination, but I really hope that I am a spirit of voice.
自介文雖掰了出來，事卻還沒個了結，
老師要我們2~3人一組，
以互相解說提問或表演方式來上台自我介紹。
與我同組的學弟和學姊聽了我的小故事後，
決定上台時他們2人先互相介紹對方，
我殿後，在說完我的自介後唱首歌做結束，
當然，這首歌是英文歌。

我一聽就傻了眼，英文歌？
如果是國台語歌，
管他人聲雜沓還是鬼氣森森我都照唱不誤；
但是英文歌我就一竅不通了…。
正想回絕卻受不住2人的閃閃眼神攻勢，
我竟然答應了下來。

那我能唱什麼歌呢？勉強能唱全的大概是
Ray Peterson的〈Tell Laura I love her〉吧。
第一次聽到這首歌是在一部電影裡，
梁朝偉、梁家輝和劉嘉玲主演的〔新難兄難弟〕。
裡面有一幕是梁家輝和劉嘉玲在舞池裡跳舞，
梁朝偉則在舞台上悠悠唱著〈Tell Laura I love her〉。
聽來深情舒緩的曲調使我對這首歌留下了印象。

真正熟悉這歌卻是因為另外一首。
之前在某所學校念廣電學分班，
有跑去玩廣播社，和同學合作一個小節目。
有回節目主題與「夢」有關，
我想起一首英文老歌可依當開頭曲，
它一開頭就是「Dream Dream Dream」。
可是我不曉歌名，問了身邊的人也不知。

那時還不知孤狗大神的妙用，
我就直接走進一家規模頗大的唱片行，
進去西洋音樂部找個店員，厚著臉皮問：
「請問你知不知道有首歌，它一開頭是
” Dream Dream Dream， Dream〜
Dream Dream Dream， Dream〜〜”」

他聽了直接就回答：
「喔，那是Everly Brothers的〈All I Have To Is Dream〉。」
說著介紹了幾張西洋老歌精選輯遞給我。

我充滿敬意地向他道了謝，隨意瀏覽這些專輯，
目光在一套50-60年代排行榜歌曲精選停了下來，
原來〈Tell Laura I love her〉也在這裡面，
而且每一首歌都有中文翻譯跟背景講解，
我當然買下了這套CD。

節目的開場曲解決了，
我也認識了〈Tell Laura I love her〉這首歌，
原來這歌是個悲傷的故事，“Tell Laura I love her”
是男主角從生到死對女主角的呼喚…。

英文自我介紹的結束曲就決定是它了，
當天…
Laura and Tommy were lovers
He wanted to give her everything
Flowers, presents and most of all,
a wedxing ring…
我無法自制地發著抖唱出歌，
還好原唱本就是顫抖沙啞。

Tell Laura I love her
Tell Laura I need her
Tell Laura not to cry
My love for her will never die
Tell Laura I love her……
我發著抖唱完幾乎聲嘶力竭，
正好歌曲結尾也時逐漸聲音微弱。

唱畢，一陣頗熱烈的掌聲，
其實是鼓勵性質居多，但我還是覺得很高興。
這是我第一次在別人面前唱英文歌，
應該不會有第二次了；除非我英文程度忽然突飛猛進，
嗯…不大可能吧。
